DCU Expo 2023 Final Year Projects

37 33. Finite Element Modelling of a Piezeoelectric Sensor This project investigates if a piezoelectric sensor can be modelled using the ANSYS software. The results are then compared to an experimental rig that contains a piezeoelectric sensor. The experimental rig consists of 3D Printed parts created fromSolidworks, a piezoelectric sensor and a drumstick. The results from the sensor are read by the Audacity software which produces waves that are representations of the voltage produced by the sensor. The app uses photos of your bookshelf, and lists out the books on your shelf so you don’t have to type and search for them yourself! You can also view others’s bookshelves with the friend’s tab, allowing you to keep in touch with like-minded readers! Class Computer Applications Project Area Android, Artificial Intelligence, Databases, Image/Video Processing, Information Retrieval, Mobile App, Social Networking, Software Development Project Technology Java, MySQL, XML, Machine Learning Student Name(s) Grace Angulu  |  Andreea Rete Email grace.angulu2@mail.dcu.ie   |  andreea.rete2@mail.dcu.ie Supervisor Dr Hyowon Lee 35. An Investigation into the Production of Green Ammonia in Ireland This report reviews the potential of green ammonia as a renewable energy resource. Ammonia as it stands, is already the secondmost used chemical in the world contributing greatly to global carbon emissions. However, this report gives a deep understanding of how this process can be altered to produce zero carbon emissions. Furthermore, ammonia’s potential application as a zero-carbon fuel and power source is assessed.
