56 90. OpenCaptions OpenCaptions is a live transcription web app to help people who are hard of hearing or sensitive to loud environments. It will allow users to join a roomand provide live transcriptions of what the members are saying in the room tomake it easier to follow conversations. With this, we aim tomake louder environments more accessible to everyone. Class Computer Applications Project Area Natural Language Processing, Software Development, Speech Recognition, Web Application, Human-computer Interaction, Audio Processing Project Technology Docker, Go, HTML5, JavaScript, Nodejs, Python, React.js, Machine Learning Student Name(s) Aidan Smith | Lauren Chloe Kenny Email aidan.smith68@mail.dcu.ie | lauren.kenny22@mail.dcu.ie Supervisor Dr Stephen Blott 91. Examination of Lower-Body Exoskeleton Foot Plate Structures andMechanical Support Design Development Flat foot plates restrict lower-body exoskeleton foot bedmovement. Dorsiflexion, plantar flexion, inversion, eversion, medial, and lateral rotation of the foot/ankle joint make it easy to forget each joint moves minutely. This thesis will revolve around the development of a theoretical exoskeleton design that emphasizes passive sensory input within the footplate by investigating its mechanical structure. Gait analysis will be conducted to confirm the free-moving design and its ability to imitate “natural” walking. Class Biomedical Engineering (Year 5) Project Area 3-DModelling, Arduino, Biomedical Engineering, Device Design, Embedded Systems, Mechanical Design andManufacture, Mechatronic Systems, Motion Analysis, Robotics, Sensor Data, Sensor Technology, Software Development, Rehabilitation Engineering Project Technology C/C++ Student Name(s) Christian Benedict Velasco Email christian.velasco2@mail.dcu.ie Supervisor Dr JeremiahMurphy 92. TravelTracker TravelTracker is a web application that helps people make more informed decisions about their mode of transport when travelling. It provides information about the environmental impact, cost and time taken to get to their destination using different modes of transport. It retrieves data frommultiple sources to get accurate fuel prices, public transport fare prices, and specific car fuel consumption statistics. Users can use the application as a guest or login to avail of more accurate information. The application also includes a leaderboard so users can compete against their friends for lower emissions. The application is specific to Ireland but there is an opportunity to develop it for a wider market. Revenue is generated through premiumaccount subscriptions and Google AdSense. Class Enterprise Computing Project Area Software Development, Web Application, Environmental Sustainability Project Technology CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, Python, SQLite, XML Student Name(s) Michael Donohoe | Dylan JamesWinters Email michael.donohoe34@mail.dcu.ie | dylan.winters2@mail.dcu.ie Supervisor Dr SilvanaMacMahon
