DCU Expo 2023 Final Year Projects
71 135. The Rheological Assessment of Bioinks Bioprinting is a newmethod in tissue engineering where bioinks are used to formartificial tissue constructs. This has many medical applications, such as overcoming the limitations present in the treatment of bone injuries. This project aims to illustrate the importance of injectability and viscosity in producing successful bioinks and how changes in a bioinks composition influence these properties. This is evaluated through the use of SodiumAlginate hydrogel, while also investigating the incorporation of Hydroxyapatite and Chitosan. Style of You Style of You is a fashion-based social media app. It was developed to unite a community of like-minded people and create a safe space to share and inspire. Users can post pictures of their clothing and where they got them, linking the website for other users. Users can interact with posts, connect with people in specific style subgenres, and sendmessages to one another. We want to create a safe environment for all and build a welcoming, positive fashion community. Investigation of Socket-Residual Limb Interface Stresses for a Transfemoral Prosthesis This project involves developing a detailed finite element model of a transfemoral residual limb and socket to study the effect of different gait events on the distributed pressures experienced on the soft tissue. The forces acting between the socket and residual limb vary throughout the gait cycle and the patient can encounter pain and skin issues from this interface. Using the FEAmodel, I will investigate the amount of pressure experienced as well as the location of the residual limb.
