A prototype design was created using SOLIDWORKS software, 3D Printed in suitable material and amodel was assembled. A similar method was used tomake the Panemone turbine model. Both prototypes were tested under similar conditions in a wind tunnel. The tests in this controlled environment involved varying the wind speeds and shaft resistances. A compact electrical generator was used to show the power output of each turbine. The data collected was analysed and calculations were completed inMS Excel. The CANopen standard for motor control is used, specifically the CIA 402 profile. The Arduino would receive control commands from the PC in the formof JSONmessages over USB, which would be parsed and used to generate appropriate CANopen messages to control the motor.
