DCU Expo 2023 Final Year Projects

79 159. An Investigation into the Effects of Abrasion on Industry Leading Wear PlateMaterials This project investigates the effects of abrasion on the five most common materials used as wear plates in the concrete and quarry industries. Each material was subject to 3 standard tests, which emulated the working environments of the concrete and quarry industries. Data was generated from these tests, and a comparison was made on the performance of the five materials. A datasheet was then created detailing the findings of this investigation. This datasheet will benefit the concrete and quarry industries by aiding future material selection. Improving the mechanical properties of this commonly usedmaterial enables its ability to withstand harsh operating conditions, resulting in prolonged service life and enhanced performance. Laser surface hardening onMCSA has become increasingly in demand tomeet the industry’s need for high-quality surfaces due to the process’s advancement and benefits over traditional heat treating. This react app is a full stack web app that could allow remote playing of bingo which became a big issue for Bingo halls during the aftermath of COVID-19 and customers not wanting to be in large bingo halls risking potential exposure.
