DCU Expo 2023 Final Year Projects
82 168. An Examination of the Fracture Properties, Strength Prediction and Porosity of Bone Void Fillers Produced fromCoral This project looks to analyse the strength properties, fracture properties, and porosity of Zoan BioMed Coral. Coral is an osteoconductive and biodegradable material that has previously been used as bone void filler replacement. In this project, the mechanical properties and porosity of the coral specimen provided were examined to see if the coral is suitable to be used as a good substitute for bone filler in the case where a replacement for bone is needed. FPGA Implementation of RSC-V ISA The goal of this project is to implement the RV32I ISA from the RISC-V architecture using an FPGA. The design has been created using the VHDL 2008 language standard in a Xilinx proprietary development environment, Vivado. The final tests were executed using a Zybo board. This is a Zynq 7000 series development series boardmanufactured by Digilent. A simple multiplication programwritten in assembly language was successfully executed and verified. Class Electronic and Computer Engineering Project Area Device Design, Computer Architecture Project Technology FPGA, VHDL Student Name(s) Jose Alejandro Sanchez Frias Email jose.sanchezfrias3@mail.dcu.ie Supervisor Dr XiaojunWang 170. ClassroomCaptions ClassroomCaptions is a real-time automatic speech recognition (ASR) web application that provides live transcriptions during lectures to be viewed by students. The ASRmodel was fine-tuned using Irish accents to improve its accuracy. There is also a translation option for the live transcriptions. The transcripts are saved to a database to allow students to view themand lecturers to edit them after the lecture. A summary of the lecture is saved along with the transcript.
