DCU Expo 2024 - Final Year Projects

54 72. ExpoPlus This project is based on the DCU Expo, where students from the Faculty of Engineering and Computing showcase their final-year projects to attendees. As of now, the expo event only uses a booklet to assist the attendees. This application will enhance attendees’ experiences with easy navigation to projects that they’re interested in. The interactive map feature highlights projects that the user wishes to visit. On the map, they can hover over the seat and the project details will be displayed. The application also recommends projects to the attendee’s preference, and they are also recommended projects that similar users have already rated. The wonderful search functionality makes it easier to find different projects based on keywords. Attendees can also give further feedback to students andmuch more. Leveraging an open-source 3D city model, historical and potentially real-time data are superimposed and visualised, providing a platform for strategic analysis by urban developers and citizens. This aims to address urban challenges like pollution by empowering stakeholders with actionable insights derived from the integrated datasets. Emphasising the use of open-source data fosters collaboration and accessibility.
